Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. will soon be back on television, and it is through his upcoming action-packed family drama series “Agimat ng Agila” which is set to be shown starting on May 1.

Bong will play the character of Major Gabriel Labrador, the head of Task Force Kalikasan who will become the rescuer of men against the forces of evil as he is given the power of “Agimat ng Agila.”

Bong related that he prepared intensely for his role. “Dahil halos five years akong hindi nakaharap sa camera, and the circumstances behind it, ang ginawa kong mental attitude is para akong nag-u-umpisa ulit. Matindi kasi ‘yung parang ring rust ng fighters. Siyempre ayaw natin i-disappoint ang ating mga tagahanga at manonood na matagal naghintay na mapanood tayo ulit,” he said.

The actor added that he also embarked on physical training for the series. “I physically trained for no less than three hours a day for months – weights; running; cardio; muay thai; boxing; at iba pang mixed martial arts. Nag re-train din ako sa weapons para lang bumalik ‘yung muscle memory.”

In the series, Bong will have as co-stars  Sanya Lopez, Elizabeth Oropesa, Roi Vinzon, Benjie Paras, Allen Dizon, Michelle Dee, Edgar Allan Guzman, Miggs Cuaderno, and Ian Ignacio. In a special participation is Sheryl Cruz.

Watch out for the exciting adventures of Major Gabriel in the world premiere of “Agimat ng Agila” on May 1, after “Pepito Manaloto”  on GMA-7.
